Monday 16th October

Before we started on this road we thought it would be nice to give Donell something to identify with and therefore we bought him a teddy and have called it "Therapy" - It will be there when he goes to sleep everyday and will be there when he wakes up.

We got to the QE to start Donells treatment they took one look at him and just said the moulds not going to fit his face. This is because the steroids have put a lot of weight onto him. As they didn’t have any appointments until the following week, they came up with an idea of cutting out the front part of the mask. They did that and it fitted - it was a bit of a tight squeeze though! So they started his treatment but told us that to be on the safe side they were still going to go ahead with the remake of the mask but it wouldn’t be until next week. That was fine though, because they still went ahead with his treatment.

Monday and Tuesdays treatment went well for Donell, we started to see a few side effects - his eyes started to bounce up an down and he was tired. Wednesday and Thursday, he vomited and his tube came out. Because of his tube coming out they had to feed it back down and give him some antisickness.

Friday Donell was very very tired.

Donell is still in hospital because they want to keep a very close eye on him.
